Brow
lift / forehead lift may be appropriate for people
with:
- Eyebrows
which are too low or have gradually descended
with age.
- Deep
vertical creases between the eyebrows ( glabellar
frown lines)
- Deep
horizontal forehead creases.
- Eyebrow
asymmetry ( one lower than the other).
- Hair
line is too low.
The
three basic types of surgery are the endoscopic
lift (several small incisions), the classical
or coronal forehead lift (one longer incision),
and the limited incision brow lift (one incision
on each side behind the hairline in the temple).
All
pictures are unretouched photographs of patients
operated on by Dr. Davidson. Individual results
will vary. See About

The
coronal lift incision is usually made 2-4 inches
behind the hairline for best concealment unless
the hair line is already too high. In this case,
a hair line incision may actually lower the hair
line and shorten the long forehead. Frown lines
between the eyebrows are caused by the action
of the corrugator muscles. If permanent removal
of these muscles is desired, this may be included
as part of the brow lift/forehead lift.

- Brow / Forehead Lift 2 |
Horizontal
forehead frown lines are caused by the action
of the frontalis muscles ( which elevate the eyebrows).
Reduction in the activity of frontalis muscles
is more successfully done with the classical or
coronal lift than with the endoscopic lift.
When
performing a brow or forehead lift, Dr. Davidson
is careful not to overdo the eyebrow elevation
so that you will look natural and attractive after
the initial swelling has subsided.
